Alex Woodward is the founder of Woodward Productions and has been touring and producing live music and theatrical events since 2006.

Woodward Productions (formerly Understudy Productions) brings high-quality theatre to audiences in South Easy Queensland and Australia. The company is Brisbane based with a strong focus on Queensland talent and growing the arts economy.

Since the inception of Woodward Productions, we have produced more than 13 musicals, concerts, and plays. Woodward Productions loves creating “gateway theatre” which attracts new audience members into our arts community and aims to tell stories that engage all of our diverse Australian communities.

As a performer Alex Woodward recently toured Austraila and New Zealand in THE BOOK OF MORMON as Elder White/Elder Price Understudy. Alex started his career after high school in bands and made his musical theatre debut in Sydney Theatre Company's  production of "Spring Awakening".

In 2011 Alex joined Brisbane pop band "Streamer Bendy" to embrace his love of top 40 music. The band was signed and recorded their album "Sugar Rush" Internationally in Sweden and America. The group wrote and recorded with the people responsible for hits by P!nk, The Rasmus, Vanessa Amorosi and many more. 

Their debut single "You're So Cool" obtained radio success being played internationally and all across Australia on the Austereo network. 

After three years of working with the band Alex decided to move on with his career and return to his love of music theatre and further his education at the Queensland Conservatorium under the leadership of internationally recognised MD and Educator Paul Sabey.

Alongside these roles Alex performed in multiple cabarets and Brisbane musical productions outside of the course.

Tommy Ross - Carrie the Musical, Eddie Birdlace - Dogfight, Sonny Latierri - Grease The Arena Experience, Frederic - Pirates of Penzance.
